ALB #71

|
NEW ALB ON SALE. ALB#71 is on sale this Wednesday! Another great issue, with the main features being an awesome travel story as two outstanding women longboarders 4WD and hike into California’s Big Sur wilderness; more amazing images from Harley Ingleby’s camera, mounted on the nose of his board, plus some hints from Harley on how anyone can have a go at this; and our annual, winter exclusive on what went down at the Crescent Head Classic. Add to all that Jimmy O’Keefe’s Perceptions; Bob Smith’s Boardroom, which takes us back to the 1970 World Titles; and State Wraps bring us the news from right around the country.
MID-LENGTH BOARDGUIDE. The 2010 ALB Mid-Length Boardguide is also featured in ALB#71, and of course that Boardguide can also be accessed in digital form via the ALB website - right here! Of course, all our Boardguides and product guides, going back to 2008 are available here.
TARP SURFING. It’s been a busy period for video downloads on the ALB website. Anyone who hasn’t caught the tarp surfing footage we linked to this week should check it out! There had been 1.3 million viewings of this footage when we linked to it from ALB’s news page last week , and it’s now at 1.5 million!
JACK LYNCH VIDEO. We also had a link to a great short video on Jack Lynch. The film was produced by young Evans Head videographer Gabe Roxburgh and it contains some excellent longboarding. Unfortunately it had to be pulled due to music copyright dramas, but Gabe says he’ll be informing us when it goes online again, and we’ll let you know.
LENNOX CONTEST. The Old Guys Rule Lennox Head Contest was held this past weekend, with Byron Bay’s Ben Dickens winning the Men’s Open division from Mitch Surman and Clint Guest. They had good waves over the two days at Lennox, and full results plus a contest report are available from the ALB website - right here!
AUSTRALIAN TITLES. The 2010 Australian Longboarding Titles also start this Sunday at Port Macquarie. Josh Constable and Harley Ingleby will be the hot favourites for the Open Mens, and you’ll be able to follow the action with live scores and audio via this Surfing Australia link.
The ALB website will also be posting daily updates and video news grabs, so make sure you check them out too.
