wooden board build.
ALB launched into a major project this week. We’re building a hollow, timber nine-footer, similar to what were made in Australia in the late 1950s. A rundown on how we go will feature in several 2010 ALBs. We’ll also shoot some film on it for the website, so we’ll keep you posted on that. Anyone interested in having a go at this, check out the websites of either Grain Surfboards or Riley Surfboards.
Harley world champion.
Everyone should know by now that the 2009 World Longboard Champion is Coffs Harbour’s Harley Ingleby. Harley blitzed his opposition at Pasta Point in the Maldives, wrapping up the titles when he took out his quarterfinal. Sam Bleakley surfed in the event and also penned our exclusive report, which will appear in the ALB Photo Annual, on sale Dec 16. You won’t want to miss the Bob Weeks images from the 1960s in that issue either.
